New Kings Of Leon documentary touches on Caleb Followill’s drinking problem(0) In an upcoming documentary about the Kings Of Leon – the band confronts frontman Caleb Followill and his attitude about drinking. And perhaps more specifically drinking too much. To be fair, Caleb also lashes out at the rest of the band . . . so this sort of confrontation may just be the internal culture of Kings of Leon. Which makes sense because the band isn’t just LIKE a family . . . they ARE family. There’s no clip of Nathan’s rant, but “Rolling Stone” did post Caleb’s, where he reprimands the band in the studio for “not trying their hardest.” He ends it by saying, quote, “We are people’s favorite band . . . [effing] play like it.”
The documentary, “Talihina Sky: The Story of the Kings of Leon” airs on Showtime August 21st. It was created out of over 700 hours of footage, and is about the band’s rise to fame. For what it’s worth, the director . . . a longtime friend of the band . . . had this to say about the band’s current issues “I don’t think people realize how hard these kids work. One incident, and all the haters wanna start throwing rocks. It makes me wanna say, ‘Go [eff] yourself.’ One thing I hope comes out in the film is that these guys are ‘family first.’ They’re going to keep that focus in place. And they’re gonna be back, and back better than ever.”
